The Butner Road Culvert at Johnson Creek is being upgraded through the County's Road Fund as part of the Annual Maintenance Plan.
The six-foot, round culvert is in poor condition and being replaced as part of routine maintenance.
A wooden pedestrian bridge is also being replaced.
Improvements include:
Wider, nine-by-five-foot box culvert
Longer culvert to accommodate bike lanes and sidewalks
Potential improvements for the two-year to the 25-year flood mitigation
Improved fish passage
